Summary:
The techniques used such as sewing, knitting, wrapping and fusing materials has a major influence on her work. Priya's designs develop in response to the materials used, and inspiration is drawn from the changing qualities of materials when combining metals in different ways.
Priya is constantly reinventing techniques of wire-wrapping with a contemporary twist. Her textiles background shows her sensitivity to texture, repeat, colour and form.
Most of Priya's pieces are one-of-a-kind giving the wearer a sense of exclusivity. Always a hoarder, materials are sourced from reclaimed materials and items collected since childhood. These materials taken from personal and valued items add a special touch to the jewellery Priya makes. Inspiration is drawn from nature, the elements and the patterns occurring in organic forms. Most designs are one-off giving the wearer a sense of exclusivity. Priya's designs are available to purchase from galleries across the UK and you can commission jewellery directly from the designer.
