WOULDN'T YOU JUST LOVE TO HAVE
YOUR HEART AT SEA?
THE MYTH
It's a treasured possession worn
over your heart, so it's vital that
you choose it with your mind,
heart..... And your spirit! So,
let’s delve into the intricacies of
carefully selecting a Pendant. Not
just any pendant, but one that is
known to have come from the treasure
chests at the bottom of the sea,
many of which were given to sailors
as a good luck charm by the
legendary mermaids. One that has
magical powers that work best when
immersed in sun-drenched water
(which could be especially helpful
to a sailor if he is immersed in
sun-drenched water)

THE FACTS
I'm not just talking of any pendant,
but the Aquamarine pendant. It gets
its name from the Latin words 'aqua'
meaning water and 'mare' meaning
sea. This is an appropriate name, as
its colors range from the lightest
to the deepest shade of blue. It is
the color of water which is
celebrated for its life-giving
ability. It is the color of the sky
which is divine and eternal. It is
the exquisite, magical gem that
should be worn as close to the heart
as it possibly can be. The
combination of a pendant (the most
intimate piece of jewelry) and an
aquamarine (the most invigorating
gemstone) could have exceptional
results. Why? You ask me why? I'll
tell you..........
THE HISTORY
Adornment is not the only purpose of
a pendant. In earlier times feathers
and shells were worn as good luck
charms, bones and fangs were worn by
hunters to show their skill, and
people all over the world at every
stage of civilization wore
pendants-be it precious,
semi-precious or sometimes, having
no monetary value at all.
Through the years, the popular
shapes have been of a heart, star,
ring or just a simple cross. These
pendants were dotted with many
little gems, or just one stone of
the desired shape. They can be worn
casually, as well as formally,
elegantly or just as a decorative
accessory.
The aquamarine is the traditional
birthstone of the month of March. It
belongs to the gemstone family of
Beryl’s (the same family as
Emeralds). It is known as the
favorite stone among designers as
there is hardly another gemstone
that is as versatile. It can be of a
classical gem cut, a modern gem cut
or even uncut, and will still,
undoubtedly, be breathtakingly
brilliant.
THE GEMSTONE
The colors range from a colorless
pale blue to a deep blue and some
aquamarines even have a hue of
green. The deeper the color of the
aquamarine, the more valuable it is.
It is a good, hard stone and this
prevents it from being scratched or
damaged easily. Internal flaws are
very rare in this gem as it is
usually of natural clarity and
excellent quality. The price of an
aquamarine can range anywhere
between $50 to $1000.
THE STYLE
Lucky for us, the aquamarine seems
to have inspired every jewelry
designer to take gem cutting and
design to different heights, (the
gem is uncomplicated to work with)
and so we have a range of styles to
choose from, and if that's not
enough, we can aspire to be our own
jewelry designers.
How to decide your style depends on
whether you favor being at the
cutting edge, right where all the
fashion is, or if you prefer to go
with the classic, contemporary and
other styles. At the moment,
according to fashion (and its
forecasters), Vintage-inspired
jewelry seems to be getting trendy.
The knack of combining contemporary
styles with those of the past has
become quite a rage. Jewelers are
looking to the ancient times for
stimulating ideas, and blending
'then' and 'now' for tremendous
results.
Another new fad is of the
'Briolette', which is an antique
gemstone cut, is the rage. The gem
is cut like a drop, but with all
sides faceted like a piece of a
glass chandelier. And since the
aquamarine is such a flexible gem to
work with, it is prevalent in this
briolette form. The most suitable
style for the metalwork (usually
white metal or silver) is delicate
and lacy and the pendant should be
hung on a thin silver chain.
Hotwires are just another rage;
again the classical look brought
back and made to look futuristic.
These are flexible wires with
gemstones, and multiple strands with
many smaller stones are trendier
than a single wire with a big stone.
If you'd rather have impact than be
fashionable, then the Celtic style
is the one for you. The mystique of
the Celtic cult combined with magic
of the aquamarine can result in a
stupefying effect. Then there are
the universally loved pendant
designs that have never, and will
never go out of fashion. The most
commonly found of these is the
Cross, usually bejeweled with many
little aquamarine gems. Other than
the Cross are the Teardrop shape
(symbolic of emotion) and the Stone
Rose pendant (from the gothic era).
Tip 1: White metal, white gold and
silver are the best metals for
aquamarine, as they enhance the
color of the stone, and don't
contrast it like gold would.
Tip 2: A very simple tip to help you
decide on the length of the necklace
for your pendant. A short necklace
will enhance your neckline,
collarbone and shoulders, while a
long one would accentuate the bust.
THE END
Besides the beauty of the
aquamarine, it has other qualities.
It inspires passion, brings forth
wealth, enhances your wisdom and
cures ailments related to the neck,
jaws, eyes, ears, teeth, nerves,
fluid retention and many other
problems.
This gem is specially worn by
couples to re-awaken love, work out
differences and ensure a long and
happy marriage. A dream of an
aquamarine means that you are in the
vicinity of new friends.
Therapy, medicine and bed rest are
not so bad. But if what you are
looking for is a beautiful cure, or
want to be struck by Cupid's arrow,
there couldn't be a better answer
than an inspiring and
soothing......... exotic, Aquamarine
Pendant.
